Val Matthews Vol IV
The Journey Nears Its End
AUCTION CLOSED 10/14/26
Where The Hunt Begins
As this Lifetime Hummel Collection nears its final chapters, Volume IV celebrates both the collection Val Matthews built and the collectors who will carry its pieces forward.
The highlight of Volume IV is an extraordinary jumbo Hummel Nativity, an expansive set featuring Mary, Joseph and Jesus, the Three Kings, camels, shepherds, angels, animals, and the rare approximately 10-inch elephant. The scale and intricate detailing throughout make this one of the most impressive offerings in the Val Matthews collection.
Leading off the auction is a pristine condition Harvest Time, #2190, numbered 0435 of 1,000 produced worldwide, complete with its wooden display base and limited-edition plaque. Other standouts include the complete “Goebel Celebrates 50 Years of Disney Magic” set, a rare worldwide limited edition of 1,000; Sad Song, #404, accompanied by a metal postcard featuring Sister Maria’s original artwork; and April Shower, a 2005 M.I. Hummel Club Special Edition limited to 2,005 pieces.
The collection also features highly collectible military-themed Hummels, including limited editions from the Ambassadors of Freedom series and Call to Glory, with special backstamps, certificates, and related pieces.
Volume IV brings extraordinary pieces, rare editions, and unexpected finds that make a lifetime collection so much fun to explore.
